‘Ay Up Me Duck!

I’ve been very lapsedaisical (it’s a bizylizyism) with my blogs, and realised it’s been almost a year since I last posted anything on here! That’s not because I have disappeared it’s because I have been super busy behind the scenes, doing courses, business retreats, planning and lots of different events which have kept me busy for some time.

My daughter and I spent June and July devising a Town Trail for Heanor involving Ducks (quack quack) 🦆 which is a collaboration with Heanor Vision ( (2) Facebook ) and Heanor Market ( (2) Facebook ).

‘AY UP ME DUCK has been running throughout the school holidays in Heanor, Derbyshire starting 22nd July 2023 and will finish on 2nd September 2023, and even earned me a spot on BBC Radio Derby’s Twirdle ( Twirdle – 31/07/2023 – BBC Sounds ) however this link is only available until 15th August 2023. I surprised myself with my abilities, as I’m am pretty bad at both general knowledge and anagrams!

However, lets get back to the matter in hand.. The trail form is available from my Bookstall on Heanor Market Place (DE75 7AA) and has a list of all the participating businesses in and around Heanor Town Centre. Each business has a Duck of some description, either knitted, crocheted or pictures. They all have names and several of them are related to the businesses that they have made their home for the holiday season. There’s a former Mayor of London, Several Authors and book characters that have been chosen for the association to the business (there’s even a rapper in one shop). There are 20 in total.

Once you have found all the Ducks’ names then pop your contact details on the reverse of the form, plus your age. Return your form to the Bookstall on Heanor Market (open 9am – 2pm every FRIDAY & SATURDAY). Each form will be entered into a FREE Prize Draw to win a book box which will be tailored to suit the age of the recipient, and it is open to everyone to have a go. There’s also a little “thank you for taking part” prize for each entrant.

To find a Printable Version of the form, visit my Facebook Group (2) Bizy Lizy Books, Cards and More… | Facebook and look in the “files” section.
